Mission
Meat Market Gallery strives to provide dynamic exhibition opportunities for emerging artists from the nation’s capitol and abroad. As a vital part of Washington’s growing contemporary art scene, we hope to build a cutting edge program of contemporary art by pairing international and local artists within a space infused with the spirit of collaboration and experimentation.
About the Gallery
Meat Market Gallery is located in an historic space in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. Originally a Hispanic grocery store and meat market, the building has been renovated to provide a gallery space that includes a separate space for events. The gallery has invited local graffiti artists to engage in an ongoing project encompassing one entire façade of the building. In addition, Meat Market has presented a variety of exhibitions in the gallery proper and hosted diverse events from charity auctions to film premiers. As the gallery enters its second year of operation, we thank all those who have contributed to its growth. |
